SC2 registration open!

DreamHack Sapphire AMD Championship in StarCraft 2 consist of 4 tournaments at DreamHack Summer 2011. Today we’re pleased to open the registration for the 3 tournaments played in the BYOC/LAN – open for everyone.

In the first BYOC-qualifer(Saturday) you can win 2 slots to the main tournament featuring a total prize purse of 200 000 SEK. In BYOC #2 (Sunday) and BYOC #3 (Monday) you can win cash prizes, 6000 SEK and autoberth slots to the main tournament at DreamHack Winter 2011 that boost a total prize purse of 400 000 SEK.

The official tournament page for the StarCraft 2 tournament during DreamHack Summer 2011 will be: dreamhack.binarybeast.com. Here you will find all the results, brackets, registration and follow the development. DreamHack is very thankful for all the great work the BinaryBeast crew put into creating this page.

All players need to sign up at dreamhack.binarybeast.com with a personal account. In order to be accepted for the tournament you need to confirm your participation at the event.

Important notice: No players, selected for the main tournament, will be accepted in BYOC #2 and BYOC #3.

Main Tournament – Saturday-Monday

Game: StarCraft II

Game format: 1vs1 BO3 (Best of 3), BO5 (Best of 5) in the Grand final
Tournament format: 8 groups with 6 players in each. All players face each other in group stage – BO3. Top-2 advance to Playoffs; a single elimination bracket with BO3 matches and a BO5 Grand Final.
Dates: 18th-20th of June. The first set of groups start at 10.00 CET on the 18th. The Grand Final will be played at 18.30 Monday 20th of June 2011

2. 50 000 SEK
3. 25 000 SEK
4. 13 000 SEK

Tournament fee: All players need to buy an Event Pass (450 SEK), which includes all time access during the whole event and possibility to use the open sleeping hall. The Event Pass is bought at http://bokning.dreamhack.se. The players with wildcards are not required to buy an Event Pass.

I’m the designer at BinaryBeast, what you see with the DreamHack pages is our new design, to be fully released within a week or so.

I’m worried to hear that you had troubles registering an account with us, our developer informed me earlier on today that there was an issue with the registration system and it has been fixed (roughly at the same time you posted that comment.)

Did you manage to register an account? Has the issue been resolved? I’d love to know.

it seems my mailadres is in the system (username dasiro), but i never received the registration mail and thus couldn’t activate my account. trying to re-register failed and when i try to login with the credentials i earlier entered, i just get the message “Your login credentials failed, please try again”

It appears that the issue you had was indeed the issue that we found and fixed at roughly the same time you commented here.

If you’re interested in getting your original e-mail address out of the system so that you can re-register correctly send an e-mail with the information to contact@binarybeast.com and our developer may be able to do that for you.

This is amazing, and embarrassing as in Canada we have to sign petitions to the government to stop our ISPs from being allowed to restrict their already terrible service by adding more throttling and charge by usage levies against power users.
