Scandic supports e-sports and becomes head sponsor of the WoW-tournament at DreamHack Winter 2009 november 26-29.

DreamHack Winter 2009 november 26-29 will be one of the most exciting eSports event of the year. We have earlier announced the registration to the WoW tournament and we can now introduce the the offical head sponsor of the World of Warcraft tournaments together with the gaming gear provider SteelSeries.

The head sponsor will be Scandic, which is one of our strategic partners. We are very happy that Scandic is willing to support one of our most important eSports tournaments and the winning team will also get free hotel nights at Scandic that can be used anywhere in one of their 139 hotels. The prize purse will be 50 000 SEK and we hope this will attract some of the best WoW-teams around the world.

Two parts and finals at DreamArena Extreme
First we play an Open tournament where all teams can register and get a spot (16 teams, but can be expanded to 32 teams). This first phase of the tournament will be played in group stage during Thursday and Friday morning and the best 2 teams in each group will advance to the Main tournament played in double elimination bracket. Main Tournament will be played from 16:00 on Friday until the Finals at DreamArena Extreme 19:00 CET on Saturday 28th of November.

Rules in brief:
* Team captain of each team is personally responsible for given WoW-accounts by DreamHack. Accounts should only used in tournament matches and you are only allowed to use this account in DreamHacks realm. It's strictly forbidden to spread informaton regarding account details or change password. Breach of this rules will result in permanent disqualification from tournament and from future events.

* All participating will retrive acces to prepared accounts Alliance/Horde. All players get thereby acces to 10 level 80 characters where race for each class is already determined. When entering the realm you can choose lvl 213 items in Season 5 (Deadly) and Naxxarama gear, not KT-25 weapon.

* No add-ons is allowed to be used in tournament. Players can only use Standard UI, no exception.

* All matches is played best of 5 rounds. All arenas from Blizzard is used. One arena can be played maximum 2 times per match.

* Between each round all teams have maximum 5 minutes to prepare themselves. It's allowed to then change faction, class, skills, gear and etc.

* Rules when we experience Computer crash or disconnect: If all players is still living when problem occurs the round will be re-played. If any team/player have already died its up to the Head Admin to decide next step.

* Every round can maximum be 25 mintues. Both teams will be asked to leave the arena and the team having most damage will win.

* Conscious use of bugs will result in default lost game to the team which have used a the bug/exploit. If the "resurrection-bug" is used its up to Head Admin. "Drink-bug" is allowed.
