Amazing bitpop from Japan

For the fist time ever DeamHack will have two live acts all the way from Japan at the Big Stage. Japanese artists Saitone and JulieHally will perform live at DreamHack Winter 2009.

Saitone and JulieHally will perform November 26 and also do some other cool stuff at the Big Stage. Both acts can be described as bitpop or computergame music. Check out the videos below and be sure NOT to miss their performances at DreamHack Winter 2009. Its going to be a blast!


Saitone was one of the first creators of 8bit music in Japan. He was one of the earliest technology enthusiasts to embrace the game-boy as a musical instrument and is the most famous artist in Japan's 8bit scene. Recently he's been using a game-boy during his live shows.

In 2007, he participate the remix Album for the sound track of the movie TEKKONKINKREET with Derrick May/Go Home Productions/Prefuse 73/Mathew Jonson/Para One /Shinichi Osawa.

His video clip “Overlapping Spiral” was directed by VJ Reel who is a member of a VJ label called Lightrhythm Visuals that awarded the Best VJ Label by DJ Mag. Ben Sheppee from the VJ team "Lightrhythm Visuals" will be at DreamHack and take care of the amazing visuals during Saitones gig.


JulieHally are a new unit of VORC Records composed of Julie and Hally, are making their 1st album "256" will release in December 2009 or January 2010. The trackmaker of JulieHally is Hally. He is the organizer of VORC Records. He is using 2 NESs as instruments for his live performance

The vocal of JulieHally is Julie (a.k.a. Ai Amano). She is a person of multiple talents, known as a photographer, graphic designer, iPhone app "Pixel Love" producer and pop-idol. She published her art book named "Samurai Girl" from Drago, Italy in 2006. Now, the book is distributing around Europe and China.
