DreamHack Logitech CS:GO Championship

Logitech is teaming up with DreamHack to present the DreamHack Logitech CS:GO Championship at DreamHack Winter 2012. We can promise some epic action when DreamHack hosts one of the world’s first major CS:GO tournaments with 300 000 SEK in the prize pool with some of the world’s best teams attending.

Already in August DreamHack officially announced the tournament, but today we’re proud to present more details about our upcoming tournament in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive at DreamHack Winter 2012, November 22-25 in Elmia, Jönköping.

Logitech, Kingston and THOR Einride support the tournament
Logitech, one of world’s leading gaming gear brands, is the Title Sponsor of the tournament. As Main Sponsors we’re proud to announce memory manufacturer Kingston and the Scandinavian retail store CDON. CDON will provide their THOR Einride computers for the tournament area where we also have 120 Hz screens.

ConsiderIt_dunN, Redeye, Lurppis, cArn ready to provide coverage at DreamHack.TV
DreamHack.TV will bring in some of the world’s best casters and experts to provide coverage of the tournament. DreamHack will have one official stream, where casters will rotate between in-game casting and do analysis in our CS:GO Studio that will be the main hub for all CS-action during DreamHack Winter. All matches will be provided in Free HD at www.dreamhack.tv thanks to our broadcasting partner Twitch.TV. More casters and news about the media production will be presented soon.

DreamHack Winter 2012 Casters:
Corey ‘ConsiderIt_dunN’ Dunn
Paul ‘Redeye’ Chaloner
Tomi ‘Lurppis’ Kovanen
Patrik ‘cArn’ Sättermon (Extra)

6 invited teams join NiP-Gaming and Fnatic in the main tournament
Today we’re also announcing 6 out of 8 invited teams for the tournament. NiP-Gaming and Fnatic are already qualified after winning DreamHack Valencia and DreamHack Bucharest. DreamHack will have 6 slots open for any team participating, where 4 slots are for Online Qualifiers and 2 slots are for BYOC-Qualifiers.
- In a new game like CS:GO we’re obviously not inviting teams based on previous results and achievements. This is a totally new competitive scene and we’re looking for established organisations and find a good mix of countries, skill and competition. The last two invited teams will probably be non-European both of them, says Tomas Hermansson, Head of eSports at DreamHack.
