
DreamHack reaches a new milestone this Winter event with 2 million Swedish crowns in prize money (equals $294,000). Some of the best gamers from around the world are coming to Jönköping, Sweden, 22-25 November to fight for the money and the glory.
This weekend some of the world’s best players go to Jönköping, Sweden to compete in games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, StarCraft II and League of Legends. 25 000 gamers are expected to the Elmia fairs where DreamHack occupy 44,000 square meters to host their biggest event of the year – DreamHack Winter 2012.
DreamHack together with sponsors offer 2,000,000 SEK in prize money to the best gamers in games like StarCraft II, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, Dota 2 and Heroes of Newerth.
“DreamHack Winter 2012 will be the biggest eSports event we ever made” said Fredrik Nyström, Press officer at DreamHack.
In total, DreamHack will organize 12 official tournaments that will be covered by 9 on location live streams and several community streams per game. On-site DreamHack will have five dedicated eSports stages where the two biggest ones are DreamArena Extreme (1,100 seats) and Komplett.se Arena inside Kinnarps Arena (4,000 seats).
