When DreamHack asked our visitors at the last DreamHack festival (DreamHack Summer) what game they wanted to see an eSports tournament in at next festival: 34.1% said Battlefield 4. We at DreamHack are super excited to give the people what they want and proud to present DreamHack AMD Sapphire Battlefield 4 Championship. The Battlefield tournament will be played out in the classic DreamHack eSports format with open BYOC-qualifiers, the main tournament in Tournament Area, and with the Grand Finals at DreamArena Extreme infront of thousands of gamers in the audience. In the main tournament with 8 teams, 6 teams will be invited and 2 slots will be dedicated for the open BYOC-qualifier where 32 teams can participate.
“SAPPHIRE and AMD have supported Dreamhack for over 6 years now, which is an indication of our ongoing commitment to eSports,” said Adrian Thompson, VP of Marketing for SAPPHIRE. “We are proud to be sponsors of the first major BF4 tournament which is set to be a great success”
“We are really excited to be part of the eSports side of Battlefield 4 and we really believe this can be a huge hit at DreamHack Winter, since we have thousands of Battlefield fans attending the event” Robert Ohlén CEO of DreamHack said. “It make sense. DreamHack is a Swedish event and Battlefield 4 is a Swedish game.”
