European Hearthstone Finals sponsored by Razer at DreamHack Stockholm 2014

DreamHack Stockholm 2014 takes place at Stockholm Globe Arenas, Sweden from September 26-27. We’re excited to announce that the European Hearthstone Finals—sponsored by Razer—will be held at the event in the magnificent Ericsson Globe.

The Road to BlizzCon is open! After five seasons of ranked ladder play, months of gaming at community-run contests, and the recent Last Call Tournament featuring nearly 500 players, the 130 remaining competitors hoping to represent Europe at BlizzCon 2014 will do battle for one of the four available Hearthstone World Championship slots.

This weekend, these players will pit their skills against each other to earn a place in the top 16 and advance to the live qualification stage of the competition. Come to DreamHack Stockholm at the end of September to meet some of the biggest stars of Hearthstone, and watch them compete to earn their shot at a share of the $250,000 prize pool up for grabs at BlizzCon!

“The Ericsson Globe was the venue for the European Finals of the StarCraft II World Championship Series in 2012,” said Robert Ohlén, CEO of DreamHack AB. “We’re pumped to welcome all Blizzard and eSports fans back to Stockholm and the Globe for the biggest Hearthstone competition Europe has seen so far. We’re looking forward to making history and some amazing memories.”

The European Hearthstone Finals will be played on the main stage at DreamHack Stockholm. Situated within the Ericsson Globe, the main arena seats thousands of fans, and the atmosphere promises to be exhilarating.

The top 16 players from the qualifying stage will meet again when they compete live at the Monster Energy DreamHack Studios on September 24, and ultimately at DreamHack Stockholm on September 26-27. These three days will whittle down the competitors until only four champions are left standing. These four will be invited to represent Europe at the Hearthstone World Championship at BlizzCon from November 7-8 in Anaheim, California!

Two players have already guaranteed their spots in the top 16: Kolento and Neirea. Their outstanding performances on the ladder have earned them places in the qualifying round. They’ll discover the identities of the 14 other competitors this weekend! Huge names and fan favourites are competing for those spots, including Lifecoach, Xixo, Lothar, Ek0p, KitKatz, Amaz, Gnimsh, Reynad, Forsen, and ThijsNL. Lesser-known players will have the chance to face off against them and each other, to prove themselves worthy of a place in the qualifying round.

If you can’t make it to DreamHack Stockholm 2014, you can view all the matches from the European Hearthstone Finals—sponsored by Razer—for free and in high definition on Twitch.
