BUS

You can travel to Stockholm with many different bus companies and travel agencies.

TRAIN

A lot of city’s offer direct trains to Stockholm: Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo and Gothenburg to name a few and most of them is only a few hours away from Stockholm.

Book your train at you local travel agency or at www.sj.se.

CAR

From Copenhagen
If you want to go by car to get from Copenhagen to Stockholm, it’s a 7 hour drive (600 km / 370 mi). Follow the E20 across the Øresund Bridge (toll required) to Malmø and on to Helsingborg. From there, take the E4 all the way to Stockholm.

From Oslo
Going from Oslo to Stockholm, simply use E18 all the way. Getting from Stockholm to Oslo (and back) by car is one of your slower options, not to mention the gas prices.

From Gothenburg
A 450 km drive, it will take about 5 hours to drive between Stockholm and Göteborg: From Stockholm, take the E4 to Jönköping, and turn west onto road 40 toward Göteborg there. From Göteborg, take road 40 to Jönköping and merge onto the E4 toward Stockholm.

Boat / Ferries

Several major ferry lines serve the countries around the Baltic Sea, and Stockholm’s harbors are centrally located. Stockholm is also a popular cruise destination and every year around 300 cruise liners from all over the world put in to the city. To and from Airports

Stockholm Arlanda Airport
Stockholm-Arlanda Airport is located 40 kilometers (25 miles) north of Stockholm City.

The Arlanda express train takes you from Arlanda Airport to the city center. The platform is easily accessible, underneath the arrival terminals. Departure: every 15 minutes (for most of the day). Travel time: 20 minutes.

Flygbussarna Airport Coaches departs every 10-15 minutes between Arlanda Airport and the City Terminal (located next to the Central Station). Travel time: 35-40 minutes.

Commuter trains (operated by the public transport company in Stockholm, SL) to Stockholm depart twice an hour from Arlanda Central Station in Sky City. Total travel time between the airport and Stockholm Central Station is 38 minutes.

Bromma Airport, Skavsta Airport and Västerås Airport
Flygbussarna Airport Coaches operates all airports, with departures timed with arrivals and departures at the airports. Travel time: 15-20 minutes (Bromma), 80 minutes (Skavsta) and 75 minutes (Västerås).

Taxi
Taxi services are available at Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Bromma Airport. Travel time: Stockholm Arlanda Airport: app 40 minutes, depending on time of day. Bromma Airport: app 15 minutes, depending on time of day. Credit cards are readily accepted.

Please note: Taxi fares in Sweden aren’t regulated, which means that prices can vary significantly between companies. With this in mind, we recommend that you use the services of well-known firms like Taxi Stockholm, Taxi 020 and Taxi Kurir.
